Advance surf guiding at Geger left, Bali

Advanced groups were back in action at Geger Left again this morning for their first session of surf guiding and group/private lessons. As the name suggests, it was mainly left-handers breaking but there were some great rights coming through occasionally too.The waves are shoulder high to head high or overhead high on sets. Swell is similar than yesterday and conditions are clean with light offshore wind.  Perfect opportunity for advanced group to practice different surf maneuvers.

Beginner Surfing Lessons at Mushroom Rock, Bali

It’s been over a year since our last surf report from Mushroom Rock in Nusa Dua but that’s exactly where our beginner group headed this morning for their first session of private surf lessons.

There was a fresh offshore wind blowing up the faces of Mushroom Rock’s right-handers and a little current running which made the one-on-one attention of a private instructor even more valuable than normal.

Waves were breaking between waist and shoulder-high today and everybody caught their share of rides before hopping over to Black Stone — on the other side of the headland — for their second session of the day.

Beginner Surfing Lessons at Black Stone, Bali

Black Stone in Nusa Dua was the location for our beginners‘ first session of group and private lessons this morning as they ventured out from surf camp in search of some learner-friendly waves.

It was a little windy, so the waves weren’t as clean as they might have been but the size — between knee and waist-high — was perfect for gaining confidence and working on developing a consistent popup.

After breakfast, the group surfed their second session again at Black Stone, before heading back to camp to enjoy our delicious weekly BBQ.

Intermediate and Advanced Surf Lessons and Guiding at Geger Left, Bali

Our intermediate and advanced groups were back in action at Geger Left again this morning for their first session of surf guiding and group/private lessons.

As the name suggests, it was mainly left-handers breaking but there were some great rights coming through occasionally too.

Wind was light and offshore before it began to pick up towards the end of the session and waves were a similar size to yesterday; breaking between chest and head-high on sets.

After breakfast the groups surfed again at Geger Left and elsewhere in the Nusa Dua area our beginners started their day at Mushroom Rock before surfing their second session at Black Stone.

Intermediate and Advanced Surfing Lessons and Guiding at Geger Left, Bali

This morning our intermediate and advanced groups ventured over to Geger Left at Nusa Dua for their first session of surf lessons and guiding for the day.

It was a bright and clear morning and the light offshore wind kept the waves super clean which were coming through in the chest to head-high range.

After stopping for a breakfast refuel, both groups surfed again at Geger Left while our beginner groups started their morning at Mushroom Rock and walked the short distance down the beach for their second sessions at Black Stone.

Intermediate Surfing Lessons at Mengiat, Bali

This morning our intermediate group made the trip from Padang Padang across the Bukit peninsular to Mengiat Beach at Nusa Dua — just along from Black Stone where our groups have been surfing the past few days — for their first surfing lessons of the day.

Conditions were a little messy and it wasn’t the brighest of days but everyone had plenty of opportunitues to practice trimming along the waves and making their first turns.

After a break for breakfast our intermediates joined with the beginner groups to surf Black Stone while our advanced guiding group surfed twice at Geger Right.

This morning out beginners group headed to Black Stone at Nusa Dua for a combination of group, semi-private and private surfing lessons.

The group experienced the full range of Balinese weather during their session — from bright sunshine to torrential downpour — but enjoyed every minute.

Elsewhere at the surf camp today our intermediate group are also surfing at Nikko and Geger Left in the Nusa Dua area while our advanced guiding group are off adventuring in the Keramas area.

Intermediate and Advanced Surf Lessons and Guiding at Geger Left, Bali

Four vans full of excited surfers left from camp to spread themselves across the breaks of the Nusa Dua area again this morning. The first to stop were the intermediate and advanced groups who surfed Geger Left with the beginner groups continuing on to Black Stone for the second day in a row.

Waves were coming through this morning in the waist to shoulder-high range and, although the faces were a little choppy and closing out some of the time, everybody made the best of the conditions and took advantage of the increasingly uncrowded waves.
