Intermediate Surfing Lessons at Geger Left, Bali

With the return of the westerly winds, our intermediate group ventured over to Geger Left in the Nusa Dua area of the Bukit peninsular for their first session of surfing lessons this morning.

Wave quality was excellent with sets arriving around shoulder height and peeling along the reef providing long rides for all to enjoy.

The wind picked up a little towards the end of the session but for the majority of the time, it was glassy perfection with hardly a drop of water out of place.

Intermediate and Advanced Surf Lesssons and Guiding at Uluwatu, Bali

Our intermediate and advanced groups joined together for their first session of lessons and surf guiding this morning where they were just about first in the water at Uluwatu.

Although the tide was a little low to start, there were some great waves to be had in the chest to head high range as the tide pushed in.

With the benefit of the low-season crowds, our group had one section of Uluwatu’s reef to themselves and all caught loads of waves.

After a breakfast pitstop back at camp, the group will surf their second session of the day at Balangan whilst our beginner group will surf both sessions at Padang Padang.

Beginner Surfing Lessons at Balangan, Bali

Even if the weather was a little gloomy this morning, there were smiles all round from our beginners as they headed to Balangan beach for their first session of group surfing lessons this morning.

The water was nice and quiet with other surfers and the learner-friendly knee-high waves were breaking cleanly.

After enjoying the early morning session, our surfers headed back to the surf camp for breakfast before their second session of the day at Padang Padang.

Intermediate Surfing Lessons at Greenbowl, Bali

Our intermediate group ventured down the Greenbowl stairs this morning for their first session of group surfing lessons.

The weather was typical for the Bali wet season — starting a bit gloomy with some rain showers but brightening up quicky as the session progressed.

Even on days like this, when the swell is only small, our expert instructors will always find somewhere with appropriate waves to surf. Today was no different as our surfers got to enjoy clean waves in the chest to head-high range away from the crowds.

Intermediate and Advanced Surf Lessons and Guiding at Uluwatu, Bali

Very light offshore wind and a medium swell meant that Uluwatu was the location of choice for both our intermediate and advanced groups at dawn this morning.

Conditions were fantastic for both surf lessons and guiding with waves breaking along all sections of the reef and ranging from waist to head high. Long peeling walls and the occasional barrel sesion were enjoyed by all before everyone headed back to camp for breakfast.

Intermediate and Advanced Surf Lessons and Guiding at Airport Reefs

This morning all groups jumped on the boat next to Kedonganan pier in Jimbaran in search of waves at Bali’s Airport reefs. Our intermediate group stopped first for their surf lessons at Toro Toro where the waves were slightly smaller but glassy and perfectly formed. The advanced group continued to the other side of the airport runway for surf guiding at Airport Lefts where the waves were bigger but not as clean.

With both groups being joined at their respective spots by only a couple of other surfers, everybody got to enjoy some of the uncrowded waves that Bali’s wet season is known for.

Intermediate and Advanced Surf Guiding at Airport Left, Bali

Our intermediate and advanced surfers jumped on the boat at Jimbaran this morning at dawn and headed out around the Ngurah Rai International Airport runway to surf at Airport Lefts.

Light offshore winds kept the conditions nice and clean and the rolling chest-high waves were perfect for the range of surfing abilities across the group.

After breakfast, all of the surfers at the camp joined up to surf their second session at Uluwatu before heading back to the surf camp for a well-earned rest.
