Beginner Surf Lessons at Padang Padang

A new, bigger swell has arrived today and Padang Padang was great to surf for our beginner and intermediate groups. Shoulder-high, clean sets came in consistently and were breaking perfectly at this beautiful surf spot. With no wind at all this morning, the conditions were glassy and everyone enjoyed the session.

With the rainy season coming closer, we expect the swells to be smaller than the last couple of months. This is not a bad sign, it only means that other surf spots will work better and that we can explore more of the Island. The east side of Bali is a great place to look for perfect right-handers. Often we are greeted by silky smooth conditions and only a handful of other surfers in the line-up. This is what everyone is looking forward to and is excited about.

Beginner Surf Lessons at Padang Padang

Surfing is a great way to make use of a rainy morning. Often, the waves are perfect when it’s raining and fewer people share the line-up.

It was the case today, heavy rain was a good enough reason for many people to stay in bed. But not for us! We took full advantage of the empty line-up and caught some amazing waves. This made everyone happy despite the cloudy weather and we are motivated to go for another session later today.

Intermediate surf guiding at Uluwatu

Unusually small swell in Bali but there are always waves to be found at Uluwatu. The season is slowly changing and instead of a consistent strong offshore wind, the wind is now light and variable. October is a good time to explore surf breaks on the south coast and east coast, which breaks up the crowds and also offers some variety of surf spots.

A light onshore wind and waves shoulder-head high but still some power and very good wave quality. It’s only very small for 1 day and tomorrow we are looking forward to a 15 second west swell.

Beginner Surf Lessons at Padang Padang

Padang Padang, again was great today! The swell has faded and shoulder-high waves came through consistently. Perfect for our beginner and intermediate groups who just started to catch green waves and doing first turns.

With surf conditions like this, making progress is much easier and much more fun. Having a consistent training ground is immensely important to improve your surfing skills. Bali suits all skill levels and even in one week, it is possible to step up your surfing game dramatically. Besides that, the fun factor of catching amazing waves make learning and progressing so much better. It motivates you to keep going and keep improving.

Intermediate surf guiding at Uluwatu

Uluwatu was great this morning due to the slightly bigger swell that had arrived overnight. Clean, long left-handers all morning long and only a handful of other surfers out there. This is how we like to wake up, jumping into lukewarm water with perfect waves in front of us.

As the season is changing, so does the wind direction. Now, glassy conditions in the mornings are the norm and off-shore wind conditions in the afternoon and evenings. Soon, the wind direction will change and come from the west. Then, Nusa Dua and the east side of the Island will be on our radar. Many great surf spots await us there, and every regular footer will love the right-hander buffet Bali has to offer.

Beginner Surf Lessons at Padang Padang

What a great session this morning! To be fair, the weather wasn’t the best, but the waves made up for it. Fewer people in the water also helped to catch more waves and we could enjoy the surf session even more.

When spending a week in Bali, surfing every day two times, the progress you make is huge. Due to the consistent surf conditions year round and the perfect learning environment, how fast you can improve your surfing skills is only a matter of dedication. There is always a good wave and a suitable surf spot for the day’s swell size and tides. Finding those spots can be tricky but with the help and local knowledge of our instructors, it is no issue at all!

Beginner Surf Lessons at Dreamland

Heavy rain in the morning was a good reason for a lot of people to stay in bed today. But not for us! We got up early and had a great session at Dreamland just before the rain came. Because of that, there was hardly anyone else out in the line-up and we had most of the waves for ourselves.

The dry season is coming to an end and the wind direction is slowly changing. This means, the east side of the Bukit will be great soon and we are looking forward to surfing spots like Geger left and Nikko again. With glassy, wind-still conditions in the morning, there are countless surf breaks to choose from. It is time to explore and find some more uncrowded waves!

Intermediate surf guiding at Uluwatu

Uluwatu was great today! Glassy conditions with long, perfectly breaking waves were peeling over the beautiful reef all morning long. This surf spot is mesmerizing, not only because of the waves but because of its location and scenery as well.

It is a special place to surf, culture and nature come together and provide a unique setup that attracts many surfers from all over the world. If you travel to Bali, this is one of the must-dos on the Bukit. No matter if you surf or not, it is worth going to and enjoying the view. Intermediate surf guiding at Balangan

After a couple of days of bigger waves, the swell has dropped and shoulder to head-high sets came consistently at Balangan this morning. Due to the very low tide at 7 am, we decided to have breakfast first and surf with the incoming tide.

When we arrived, only a few other people were out, and catching waves was easy. The session was fun and everyone had a great time. On days like this, with only a handful of other surfers in the water, you can improve a lot due to the high wave count. The more waves you catch the more progress you will make. After a well-deserved break on the beach, we decided to take advantage of the high tide and go again for another session.
