Intermediate surf guiding at Uluwatu

Our intermediate surfers recently enjoyed a delightful morning session at Uluwatu, starting at first light. The mesmerizing orange glow of the sunrise and the vivid full moon competed to create a marvelous reflection on the incoming set waves. Although the swell had slightly decreased in size compared to the previous day, most set waves were still in the head-high range, with some larger standout sets arriving for the patient surfers. At first light, the tide was just right, striking the perfect balance of easy paddling over the reef and optimal wave shape and size. The offshore trade wind blew gently, leaving the wave faces smooth as glass.

These are the conditions you can expect in June. Consistent swell, consistent sunshine, and calm mornings with the offshore trade wind picking up in the afternoon.

Intermediate surf guiding at Balangan

Our group of intermediate surfers had a fantastic time surfing the beautiful peaks at Balangan. The swell has dropped in size since yesterday, which was welcomed after yesterday’s powerful long-period swell. The surfers enjoyed sets just overhead, punctuated by numerous smaller waves for everyone’s delight. The wind had picked up to a moderate pace, while the offshore direction preserved clean wave faces. The surfers with the ability to ride high on the wave face were rewarded with long, open walls, while the improving surfers worked on generating speed by pumping the surfboard and optimizing their weight distribution.

There will be an increase in wave size tomorrow, accompanied by consistently favorable surf conditions.

Intermediate surf guiding at Balangan

With traces of a new swell appearing in the lineup and a quickly rising tide, our intermediate surfers eagerly gathered their boards and set off for Balangan, a beloved spot among our camp members when the tide is high. At the inviting sandy shores of Balangan, they were greeted by the excellent surfing conditions you can expect in May. The incoming pulse of swell brought waves reaching head-high with occasional standout sets. The trade wind blew moderately offshore, holding the faces of the waves up that extra moment longer, allowing the surfers to make the extra sections down the line. The surfers enjoyed the long walls, and came home ready for lunch.

Today’s swell will persist until Friday before gradually diminishing on Saturday.

They were greeted with flawless sheet glass conditions and elongated lines across the multiple peaks that make up Uluwatu. A gentle offshore breeze from the east added to the perfection, maintaining impeccable conditions. Although the swell continued to decrease in size for another day, the surfers enjoyed head-high set waves with the occasional standout set. Overall, it was a memorable day filled with incredible surf.

Advanced surf guiding at Uluwatu

Our advanced group headed to Uluwatu this morning to challenge themselves at Bali’s most famous wave. The swell has increased in size since yesterday, and the waves came in at overhead high with the occasional larger set coming in. The wind blew lightly offshore, and the rides were long. The surfers enjoyed testing themselves on the steep drops, which required paddling hard down the face of the wave to avoid being thrown with the lip.

What many people don’t know about Uluwatu is that the wave can give you the ride of your life on any given day! Perfect sets can arrive unexpectedly, and some waves can run for more than 300 meters down the reef, with many barrel and turn sections. Take advantage of the opportunity to experience the thrill of Uluwatu.

Intermediate surf guiding at Dreamland

We’re stoked to report that a fresh swell has rolled in, bringing with it calm winds and sunny skies! Our intermediate group had a blast catching the low-tide peaks at Dreamland this morning. The waves have increased in size, reaching head-high on the set waves, thanks to a new 4.5 ft. swell with a period of 16 seconds coming from 218 degrees. The offshore wind provided ideal conditions, resulting in a smooth ocean surface. Surfers were treated to lengthy, pristine rides all the way to the shore.

Dreamland truly shines as a low-tide break when the swell grows larger in conjunction with a morning low tide. It’s no wonder Dreamland is one of the surf camp’s most beloved waves.

Intermediate surf guiding at Uluwatu

Our intermediate surfers seized on the opportunity afforded to them with the dropping swell to paddle out through the iconic cave at Uluwatu this morning. The swell has backed off in size to 4 ft. at 13 seconds from 210 degrees, which is just enough for our intermediate surfers to surf the wave safely and enjoyably. The waves were in the shoulder-high range on most sets, with the occasional overhead and larger set wave coming through. The water was crystal clear, the wind blew ever so lightly offshore, and the waves were everything our surfers hoped for. The surfers worked on developing drive from their bottom turns, an essential skillset every surfer must master.

The forecast shows the swell continuing to drop for one more day, with small to moderate-sized swells present through the next week or so. Let’s go!
