Activity: Surf Guiding

It was really fun surfing this morning for our beginner group! Shifting winds brought some texture to the lineup, but the rights were lining up nicely! Thanks to a pulsing swell, the surfers were able to choose their preferred size of wave to take off on. From overhead waves for the most enthusiastic of the crew, down to waist-high for the surfers just looking for a mellow ride. The waves moved at a great pace for the surfers just learning to engage their rail and get moving down the line.

The tradewind has broken down, giving way to light and variable winds. This is the time of year for surfing all over the island.

Fun waves at Dreamland this morning! A fresh new swell had arrived, delivering clean overhead lefts and rights. We had a great tide for the session, and the wind was blowing steadily offshore. The intermediates got some great waves at the A-frame, while the beginners stuck to the outside left. At the A-frame, the slower, softer rights were great for the surfers working on popping up quicker and with more control of the surfboard. The surfers with a bit more skill and experience enjoyed the faster lefts.

The waves at Dreamland are a great next step after a surfer feels confident at Padang Padang. There are several fun options which keep things to a user-friendly level.

Today was another big wave day in Bali! The biggest swell of the year began to fill in yesterday and peaked overnight. This morning, Uluwatu was for the waterman on massive boards and chargers getting towed into bombs behind jet skis. The wind was moderately offshore, and the tide was moving quickly, thanks to a full moon this evening. A few surfers tackled the Bombie, challenging themselves on critical, fast walls that are known to close out at any moment. Others choose the long lines of Outside Corner, making the challenging conditions look easy.

As we approach the end of the dry season, this is likely the final XL swell of the year.

Incredible surf at Balangan this morning! The surf was absolutely firing, with glassy waves and just the right amount of offshore wind for some Balinese perfection. The intermediate surfers were pushing their limits in these epic conditions, with the promise of barrels keeping everyone motivated. The waves were overhead, and consistent sets rolled through the lineup. There were tons of barrels for the committed surfers, plus long, fast rides for the rest of the crew.

Fun conditions at Dreamland bright and early this morning! The shoulder-high waves were just what the surfers needed to make lasting improvements with their surfing. The wind was just offshore, the sun was shining, and the sea state was very calm. The surfers embraced the tropical conditions, catching plenty of great waves along the way. The intermediate surfers stuck to the faster left and the soft right that make up the A-frame, while the beginners surfed the soft and slow outside left.

The wide smiles on everyone’s faces showed they had a great time. You can feel the shift in the season now, with a few less people in the lineups and around the area.

It was an exciting session this morning at Balangan with overhead waves and steady offshore winds shaping the faces nicely. The sets were consistent, with clean sections along the reef for those who selected their waves well. Surfers who positioned themselves wisely had plenty of opportunities to link multiple turns through the well-defined walls. With the size, the lineup was a bit quieter, making it easier to pick off the better waves.

A large late-season swell is arriving tonight, pushing the exposed Bukit breaks into double-overhead territory. Tomorrow, we’ll shift our focus to the more sheltered spots for fun and manageable conditions. Stay safe and ready for a solid day of surfing ahead.

Fun waves at Balangan this morning! The surf has dropped in size since yesterday, but there were plenty of clean, fun waves coming through. The surf was in the head-high range, with a few larger set waves. The rising tide was slowing down the pace of the waves, perfect for our intermediate surfers. The wind was very calm at first light, with the offshore trade wind building through the session. The surfers worked on identifying when to speed up and when to slow down, which is an essential skill for extending your rides. It was a fun, relaxed session, and everyone had a great time.

Excellent surf conditions this morning at Bali’s easiest wave! Our beginners were out getting great waves at first light. The conditions were perfect, with just the right amount of swell and a great tide. The morning was dead calm, with the offshore wind picking up as sun rose. The lefts were lining up beautifully for lengthy rides. The rights offered a soft shoulder with a slower ride, perfect for those just learning to get to their feet.
