Intermediate surf guiding at Balangan

Fun waves at Balangan this morning! We enjoyed a mix of light rain and sunshine with plenty of waves to go around. The surf has picked up in size since yesterday, with some overhead set waves coming in. Our surfers stuck to the middle peak, which featured waves that were just a little smaller than the main peak. The wind was light and variable through the session, fluctuating between offshore and onshore. The faces of the waves remained clean, and the lines broke swiftly down the line. This gave the surfers a fun, medium-length ride

Now is the perfect time of the year for catching your first wave or restarting your surfing journey. The waves are just the right size, and the conditions are warm and inviting.

Intermediate surf guiding at Uluwatu

Pumping surf this morning! There is still plenty of swell hanging around. The wind was blowing lightly offshore, and the tide was in a good range for advanced surfing. Our advanced surfers scored world-class Uluwatu lines- long, fast, and clean. The most skilled surfers in the lineup were able to tuck into some tubes while the rest of the surfers enjoyed the lengthy rides with many turn sections. Today was a great day, and we are looking forward to what is to come.

After an excellent wet season, this upcoming dry season is going to be great! The offshore wind has already arrived and the swells are picking up in frequency. We are looking forward to seeing you in the lineup!

Advanced surf guiding at Uluwatu

The first big swell of the dry season arrived in time for sunset last night. This morning, the swell had dropped in size to the double overhead range, making for exciting surfing at Bali’s premier surf break- Uluwatu. We had some mixed weather this morning with a wind that kept changing directions. This caused a mixed sea state with bumpy waves, however there were plenty of waves that lined up nicely with clean enough faces.

The long, perfect lines may look inviting to inexperienced surfers, but the reality is that waves of this size are challenging. For advanced surfers, these waves are a real treat with many long rides and the occasional barrel. For less experienced surfers, there are plenty of protected spots to surf.

Intermediate surf guiding at Balangan

Small wave fun at Balangan! It was a beautiful morning with the sun shining and clean conditions. Today, our beginner surfers enjoyed the opportunity to try a different break which is a level up in difficulty but very rewarding. The surf was about the same size as yesterday but the conditions were cleaner with an offshore wind and glassy wave faces. The waves were breaking perfectly along the reef at a beginner-friendly size.

Balangan has something for every surfer on their day. When small like today, it is the perfect platform for a beginner to grow beyond the sheltered cove at Padang Padang. On a head-high day, it is an intermediates’ playground with long, easy lefts. On A big day, there are barrels for the experts.

Intermediate surf guiding at Uluwatu

Another easy day in paradise with a head-high swell, decent conditions, and quiet season crowds! Our intermediate and advanced surfers woke up to a slightly bumpy lineup and a dropping swell, which made for a relaxed day of surfing at the world’s most consistent wave- Uluwatu. The conditions were in the process of cleaning up during the session. As always at Uluwatu, the waves were still breaking cleanly across the reef, with waves coming in many different sizes for the surfers to select from.

We are entering the perfect time of year for beginner and intermediate surfing in Bali. The swells drop to the perfect size for progression. The winds are light and variable, which makes surfing easier and makes for great surfing all over Bali.

Intermediate surf guiding at Uluwatu

Our intermediate and advanced surfers enjoyed an empty lineup at Uluwatu this morning! The swell had dropped in size since yesterday but there were plenty of head-high + lines coming in. When the surfers paddled out at first light, there was a bit of texture in the lineup caused by an overnight breeze. It didn’t take long for the conditions to clean up; however, by that time, the rest of the surfers had gone either to Nusa Dua or back to bed, leaving just our crew in the lineup. The tide was in the perfect range during the session, which allowed for long and fast lines that the racetrack is known for.

It’s not easy to get an empty lineup these days, but today was our day.

Intermediate surf guiding at Uluwatu

While waiting for the tide to come up, our advanced and intermediate surfers decided that the waves were clean enough at Uluwatu for a fun session. We made the right call as they scored fun head-head + waves with a light crowd! The westerly direction of the swell meant Nusa Dua would have been smaller. There was a light onshore breeze but the wave faces were plenty clean for good turn sections and long rides. Everyone enjoyed the jump in the surf and the unexpected clean conditions.

We have quick access to a wide range of waves from our surf camp in Padang Padang. Between the waves at the airport, Ulwuatu, the south coast, and Nusa Dua, there is always something for everyone.

Intermediate surf guiding at Uluwatu

Excellent quiet season surf this morning! An early morning rain shower had cleaned up the surf perfectly, just in time for a morning session at Uluwatu. The surf was in the head-high range with a few bigger set waves. The wind was light and variable, blowing from several directions throughout the session. The swell was rolling onto the reef in nicely organized lines. The waves broke in long but fast lines down the reef.

Our intermediate surfers worked on riding along the face of the wave, which requires that next step of control of your surfboard to get moving down the line at a swift pace. The surfers had a great time in the user-friendly surf, which is just what they came here for.

Intermediate surf guiding at Geger Left

Our intermediate and advanced surfers set off for Geger Left early this morning. The weather was a challenge, but the conditions quickly cleaned up with the offshore wind organizing the surf. The surfers enjoyed mostly head-high surf with some larger, overhead set waves. There was a fun mix of both left and right-breaking waves that the surfers were able to select from. The lefts offered fast sections with barrels for the most skilled surfers. The rights were shorter but breaking at a slower pace. There was a mix of wave sizes for everyone to choose from.

The surfers enjoyed the beauty of the location with views of Mount Agung in the northeast, Nusa Lembongan and Pendida to the east, and the 5-star resorts at Nikko Beach just to the south.
