Intermediate Surf Lessons at Uluwatu

Uluwatu is the ideal place to practice both down the line speed and push yourself in bigger waves when the conditions are right for an intermediate. That’s what our intermediate group did this morning as they paddled out at first light through the famous Uluwatu cave. The waves were overhead on the sets, glassy and with a relatively quiet lineup thanks to the early start. The dry season looks like it has finally arrived with more sunny skies and a light offshore breeze.

Intermediate Surf Lessons at Uluwatu

Sunny, glassy Uluwatu was the spot for our intermediate surfers for their second session of the day today. The waves were in the shoulder to head high range on the sets, the lineup was relatively uncrowded and there are never any complaints when the conditions are right for our intermediate surfers to make a trip there. There was a light offshore wind and it was ideal to practice making speed down the line and some turns.

Intermediate Surf Lessons at Balangan

The lessons for our intermediate group this morning were at Balangan. The conditions were clean and ideal for learning, with the bigger head high sets interspersed with some smaller 3ft waves so our learners could practice both bigger drop ins and creating and maintaining speed on smaller waves. Once again the sun was shining and the wind was moderate for the morning session. The group came back to camp for a quick rest and refuel before heading to Padang Padang for their second session of the day.

Beginner and Intermediate Surf Lesson at Geger Left, Bali

The west coast has been blowing strong onshore winds and east coast has been the go to.

It’s been days since the last swell kicked in but it means more waves for beginner and intermediate surfers.

Geger Left was breaking knee to waist high, definitely suitable size for beginner and intermediate. The wind wasn’t so strong and skies were cloudy grey but it didn’t stop these 2 surfers having a small party wave, 2 meters away sticking to covid regulations of course!

Hopefully the next swell will be around the corner.

Beginner Surf Lesson at Jimbaran Beach, Bali

As the swell is full blowing around the island, our beginner group  headed to Jimbaran where waves are very friendly.

Waves were breaking knee to waist high.

Our beginner group had a blast as seen on their faces, a great way to start the new year 2021.

We at Padang Padang Surf Camp wishes everyone a happy new year and Bali return to normal. Let’s fight this pandemic with smiles on our face whilst we out dancing on waves. Cheers to 2021

Surf Lesson and Surf Guiding at Geger Left, Bali

Our red and purple group headed to Geger Left again for a morning session.

The tide was still too low when we arrived so we waited for it to fill up and it was worth it.

The waves were mostly waist to shoulder high but some of the sets were up to head high.  For the first 30 minutes the wind was on the channel and the right elevator were breaking, but as it got later the waves got better and cleaner.

As today is mother’s day in Indonesia, we encourage you guys who’s reading this to go out and surf with your momma’s and have fun!

Stay with us for two weeks or more and we’ll pay for your visa so check out our limited New Year availability or get in contact for more information.

Beginner Surf Lessons at Padang Padang, Bali

We headed to our local beach of Padang Padang this morning — less than 1km away — for the first beginner private surf lesson of the day

The conditions were perfect for learning to surf with waves breaking between knee and waist high, light winds and hardly anybody else in the lineup

Elsewhere the intermediate and advanced guiding group surfed at Uluwatu where conditions were perfect late into the morning with offshore wind and chest to head-high waves.

We’re delighted that certain visas are now being issued by the Indonesian government which must be applied for in advance. We’ll be ramping up operations for our soft re-opening on 1st November, so get in contact now for more information on how you can join us for an exclusive surfing experience

Intermediate Surf Lessons and Guiding at Balangan, Bali

Balangan was the spot of choice for the intermediate surfers this morning and we took the camera along to capture some of the action.

Waves were breaking from around waist high to head high on sets and, although they were a little lumpy and bumpy, there were plenty of clean waves to go around.

Balangan can often be a tricky and fast wave when it’s a nice size for intermediate surfers, but on days like today, you can still enjoy a relatively shorter ride and practice your take-offs, cutbacks and turns.

It’s never too early to start planning your next trip to Bali, so until we can welcome you back, we hope you’ll continue to check our regular surf reports, and for news on the situation here, you should follow our updates over on Facebook
