Swell is a little bit smaller than yesterday, but the waves were more consistent and more perfect. There was around 15 surfers out today and quite competitive to get the best set waves, but there were some sets swinging wide which allowed a wider take off zone and more room. Swell is pumping here this morning in Bali, so we decided to head to bingin, which is more sheltered than Uluwatu. Challenging conditions on a 16 second period swell as the wave is moving fast and powerful. Bingin is a short intense ride with a scary drop. Perfect size for bingin today with around 10-12 surfers in the water, when there would normally be a pack of 30 in these conditions.

Unusually quiet at Uluwatu this morning. Swell has increased in size to novice surfers would be looking for a more sheltered spot. Many surfers have taken advantage of the new swell to go island hopping. The whole of Indonesia is wide open for uncrowded surf and this swell is a great opportunity to try somewhere new. A little bit windy this morning on the racetrack but there were some bomb set waves to be had. Looks like will be very big this afternoon and next few days.

Swell is pumping here today in Bali and we done a dawnie at Bingin. Only 2 of us in the water for the first 45 minutes is quite a luxury at this break, which is normally crowded in the dark. By mid morning the crowd maxed out as 6 people who were all happy to share the waves. Light offshore wind was good for wave quality but better for barrels on a medium-strong wind. Overhead on the sets and always a pleasure to get a few rides at this mechanical perfect wave.

Perfect size at Uluwatu this morning for advanced surfers, and as you can see from the photos, there were some great waves to be had. We had an early start this morning at the Racetrack which was near perfect. As the tide filled in the peak started working, and the set waves were pushing double overhead. Light offshore winds and sunny again, which is how we like it.  When the swell is this size there are other spots further down the coastline that are suitable for intermediate surfers, and our intermediates surfed Padang Padang shoulder-head high.

This morning we went to bingin, a mechanical left hander, and one of the best surf breaks in the world. Perfect size for bingin and very consistent waves. Pandemic crowds – just a handful of tourists were surfing his morning, while we had bingin legend Richie to help us. Bingin is perfectly suited for advanced/intermediate+ surfers, wanting to build confidence on a fast barrelling reef break.

Perfect size at impossibles this morning, if you didn’t mind taking the bigger sets on the head! Just a handful of guys out and some leg achingly long rides to be had. As always with impossibles, wave selection and positioning is key. Many close outs, but you only need to get a couple of long rides to have an excellent session. Swell is a touch smaller than yesterday but there were 10 wave sets and needed to be careful not to get swept inside.

The swell was tiny at sunset yesterday. Totally different story this morning at sunrise. The swell jumped in size overnight and is building all day. The biggest swell so far this year. We were lucky to have light winds and uncrowded conditions today at Toro Toro. Many leg achingly long rides.
