Advanced Surf Guiding at Uluwatu, Bali

The new swell arrived at Uluwatu this morning and resulted in some pumping conditions for the advanced surfers with long open faces and barrels galore.

Forecast to be less optimal than it was, the sun was shining and perfectly clean waves were breaking around head-high the length of the reef

Tomorrow should see another jump in wave height so check-in again to see what fun we got up to!

Intermediate and Advanced Surf Guiding at Uluwatu, Bali

We were back at Uluwatu this morning for the first session of the day where conditions were glassy and the waves breaking everywhere from waist to shoulder high.

This morning’s clean and uncrowded waves were the kind of combination to make any surfer happy.

We’re expecting a little extra swell size to build through the day so we await with anticipation what’s in store for tomorrow

Intermediate and Advanced Surf Guiding at Greenbowl, Bali

With the swell having faded completely, we headed to Greenbowl this morning — one of the best-known local swell magnets — to make the most of what waveswas left

Taking a break from the abundant left-handers in the area, the surfers were enjoying the conditions which were a little bumpy but clean and uncrowded, as waves were breaking along into the channel in the waist to shoulder-high range.

Conditions will remain small tomorrow although a small increase in wave height should open up some more options in terms of where to surf.

Advanced Surf Guiding at Uluwatu, Bali

We were back at Uluwatu this morning where there were some great waves for the advanced surfers

After a week of changeable weather the sunshine is back for what was a beautiful morning of surfing as head high and above waves were breaking up and down the reef

The current swell likely peaked this morning and it will continue to fade into the weekend while providing plenty of waves for all abilities at breaks in the local area

Advanced Surf Guiding at Impossibles, Bali

With a large swell hitting Bali at the moment, Impossibles has rumbled into life — breaking at a size where the infamously fast sections from which it derives its name become a little more makeable

Waves were breaking today between head high and a foot or two overhead with long racy green walls rewarding the advanced surfers who’d paddled out

The current swell is expected to peak this afternoon before settling down to more intermediate-friendly size over the weekend and into next week

Intermediate and Advanced Surf Guiding at Uluwatu, Bali

It was a rainy start to the day with not enough water on the Uluwatu reef for a dawn surf, so everybody had to wait patiently while the tide filled in

The new swell was definitely showing with waves significantly larger than yesterday and set waves breaking a foot or two overhead

Although the conditions were a bit bumpy — caused by the light variable winds — the fact that the lineup was almost empty made up for it as there were loads of waves up for grabs

We expect wave size to increase in to the middle of next week as this new swell builds so there will be waves all across the Bukit for every ability level

Intermediate and Advanced Surf Guiding at Uluwatu, Bali

We returned to Uluwatu this morning where the surf was breaking at a super fun size for intermediate and advanced surfers — between waist and head high.

The cloudy and changeable weather meant that wind was variable but light so conditions were clean well into the afternoon with waves breaking up and down the length of the reef.

Intermediate and Advanced Surf Guiding at Bingin, Bali

With a blustery start to the day we sought the shelter of Bingin’s cliffs this morning for the first surf session of the day

As the swell has increased yesterday waves were breaking between shoulder and head-high with plenty of open faces and barrels on offer, as you’d expect from the Bingin barrel machine
