Intermediate surf guiding at Uluwatu

Our home spot was so much fun today! Glassy, head-high waves came consistently and the crowd was very light early in the morning. Long left-handers gave plenty of opportunities to practice backhand bottom and top turns. Perfect to improve your surfing skills!

We are expecting one more day with smaller waves, but on Tuesday, a new swell is about to arrive later in the afternoon. Everyone is excited about the new swell and we are looking forward to this week. With the wind changing already, the conditions will be offshore and favorable for surf spots like Uluwatu, Impossibles, and Balangan.

Intermediate surf guiding at Greenball

One of the best sessions happened this morning at Green Bowl! Perfect head-high right-handers were peeling over the reef in the south of the Bukit. Clean walls invited us to draw big top turns and snaps, while some waves offered nice barrel sections. The tide was just right and the swell was big enough to deliver sets consistently.

This is what a morning session should be like, sunny weather, blue water, and great waves. Surfing these waves for the first time can be intimidating, but once you catch your first waves, you will want more. But be aware, some sets might be bigger than expected. Sitting on the shoulder and watching the first few sets roll in, is a good way to start before you make your way to the peak.

Intermediate surf guiding at Uluwatu

Straight after breakfast this morning, we took the short 5 minute drive up to the most consistent quality surf spot in Bali, and arguably the world’s most consistent quality wave. We were lucky that the waves were overhead and not crowded. At the start of the session there was a bit of a wobble on the wave, but as the tide came in the waves cleaned up, and there were some great rides to be had on the racetrack.

The surfing season is now well underway and we got another 6-7 months of sunny weather and offshore winds to look forward to. We are firing up the pizza oven for lunch, and then will head back to Uluwatu this afternoon to catch the dropping tide. Eat, Surf, Sleep.

Balangan is always worth going to! The white sand and crystal clear water are a beautiful view and the waves make this beach look even better. It is a popular destination for sun-seekers and wave catchers from all over the world.

Beginner, intermediate, and on bigger days, also advanced surfers will have a lot of fun out there.
While riding the waves, you can see fish and colorful coral reefs underneath you. Sitting on the board and waiting for the next set is always a nice way to relax and look at the nature around you.
On days like this, it is all about having fun and enjoying an afternoon surf session with a group of good friends.

Intermediate surf guiding at Padang Padang

This morning we went to Toro Toro before sunrise and scored epic waves. April is the best month for Toro Toro due to light winds all day every day.

After breakfast we went to ever consistent Padang Padang. It was cloudy which meant that the wind was light and variable instead of offshore which the sunshine will deliver. It was still very good fun with waves breaking mellowly both left and right. 2 fun surf sessions today, and every day, is the pleasure of a surfing holiday in Bali.

Intermediate surf guiding at Uluwatu

Uluwatu was the best choice today due to the small swell and high tide. Glassy conditions and shoulder-high sets delivered fun waves for everyone. Yes, there was a crowd, but with the many peaks, people spread out and you can find a spot in the line-up.

Our professional guides know where it’s best to wait for the waves. Local knowledge is key to surfing Uluwatu successfully. This wave has everything to offer. Long clean rides as well as fast-breaking barrels. Pick the right waves according to your surfing skills and you will have a great time surfing one of the best spots on the planet.

Intermediate surf guiding at Uluwatu

Another beautiful sunny day here in paradise island. The swell has dropped in size, but very clean conditions today at Bali’s premier surf spot. We love Uluwatu due to the quality and length of the ride. More and more people are returning to Bali, but it is still relatively quiet and the long reef at Uluwatu is excellent for spreading out the crowds.

Today was perfect for intermediate surfers as the waves were head high and not too powerful. Uluwatu can be dangerous at low tide so we always surf it between mid and high tide, when there is enough water on the reef for comfort and safety.

Intermediate surf guiding at Balangan

Practice is key to a successful surfing career. Knowing when to go and what conditions are best for your current surfing level, is equally important. Our professional guides know the best spots for the day’s conditions. Not only will it help you to improve faster, but you will also get to know how to choose the right surf spot.

Balangan was a great choice today, shoulder to head-high sets came through very consistently and the higher tide made the waves very “user-friendly” to ride. By all means, it was not perfect, but does it really matter if you have fun?! Remember, the best surfer is the one having the most fun out there!

Intermediate surf guiding at Balangan

Balangan was a blast this morning! Clean head high sets were consistently coming in and everyone was catching waves out there. This can be a tricky wave to read, many sections make it difficult to continue the ride, but when you do, you can have one of the longest rides of your life.

The scenery is spectacular and the white sand beach invites you to have a cold drink after the surf session. It’s also perfect to relax in one of the many warungs or enjoy the sun and crystal clear water. A surf spot for all levels, depending on wave size and tides. Great for beginners with small waves and high tides. Today it was perfect for the intermediate and advanced surfers.
