Intermediate and Advanced Surf Lessons and Guiding at Airport Reefs

This morning all groups jumped on the boat next to Kedonganan pier in Jimbaran in search of waves at Bali’s Airport reefs. Our intermediate group stopped first for their surf lessons at Toro Toro where the waves were slightly smaller but glassy and perfectly formed. The advanced group continued to the other side of the airport runway for surf guiding at Airport Lefts where the waves were bigger but not as clean.

With both groups being joined at their respective spots by only a couple of other surfers, everybody got to enjoy some of the uncrowded waves that Bali’s wet season is known for.

Intermediate and Advanced Surf Guiding at Airport Left, Bali

Our intermediate and advanced surfers jumped on the boat at Jimbaran this morning at dawn and headed out around the Ngurah Rai International Airport runway to surf at Airport Lefts.

Light offshore winds kept the conditions nice and clean and the rolling chest-high waves were perfect for the range of surfing abilities across the group.

After breakfast, all of the surfers at the camp joined up to surf their second session at Uluwatu before heading back to the surf camp for a well-earned rest.

Beginner and Intermediate Surf Lessons and Guiding at Black Stone, Bali

After a day of rain yesterday the sun was shining again today as our beginner and intermediate groups joined up to surf at Black Stone in Nusa Dua.

Conditions were clean with waves breaking in the knee to chest high range for the duration of the surf lessons and guiding session this morning.

After everybody was surfed out, they all headed back to camp to feast on delicious fresh tuna poke bowls and refuel for tomorrow.

Intermediate Surf Lessons and Guiding at Temple, Bali

This morning, for the second day in a row, our intermediate group headed to Temple for their first surf session of the day.

It’s safe to say that conditions weren’t Bali’s finest, but on a challenging morning, where the weather conditions were changing throughout, our instructors still managed to find some clean and uncrowded waves for our surfers.

Swell was arriving quite lumpy and bumpy, between knee and shoulder-high, and all the surfers made the best of the waves on offer.

Beginner and Intermediate Surfing Lessons and Guiding at Balangan, Bali

It was a relatively late start for our beginner and intermediate group’s first session of the day today as they travelled to Balangan beach for group surf lessons and guiding.

The were party waves and smiles all around as our surfers worked on their popups and started making their first turns down the line in the late morning sun.

Waves were breaking in the knee to waist high range which is ideal for building confidence when you’re just getting started

Intermediate Surfing Lessons at Uluwatu, Bali

Our intermediate group travelled the short distance to Uluwatu this morning for the first session of surfing lessons where they were greeted by very clean waves in the waist to shoulder-high range.

Although world-famous Uluwatu is known for it’s advanced-level waves, when the swell is smaller, it’s also the perfect playground for less experienced surfers — as our group found out today!

The current weather patterns continue to please everybody with sunny skies and winds that are ideal for some of our favourite surf breaks close to the surf camp. Just like the dry season but without the crowds!

Beginner surfing lessons at Balangan, Bali

This morning our beginner groups headed to Balangan beach for their group surfing  lessons.

Waves were typically coming through in the knee to chest-high range with a couple of larger sets, which the future big wave surfers among the group confidently took advantage of!

After a break between sessions, the groups stayed at Balangan for their second session of the day as it remained the ideal place to surf today based on the tide, wind and swell conditions.

Beginner and Intermediate Surfing Lessons at Balangan, Bali

After a couple of days out on the boat our beginner and intermediate groups got things started from dry land this morning with a trip to sunny Balangan beach for their first session of morning group surf lessons.

Waves were a little tricky — breaking quickly and not perfectly clean — but the group had lots of fun practising their popups and bottom turns.

Elsewhere at the surf camp our other beginners group surfed at Padang Padang for their two sessions, just a stone’s throw from the surf camp.
