Intermediate Surfing Lessons at Uluwatu

It was intermediate-friendly fun at Uluwatu again this morning as swell height was relatively small for the second day in a row.

Light onshore winds meant that the waves were still very clean and everyone was taking advantage of Uluwatu’s long peeling walls during their lessons.

Elsewhere, our advanced guiding group surfed at Gunung Payung where the more exposed break provided more challenging waves.

Intermediate and Advanced Surf Lessons and Guiding at Temple Bali

Our intermediate and advanced groups jumped on the boat at first light this morning and headed up to ‘Temple’ at the end of the Uluwatu reef for their first surf session of the day.

Waves were coming through in the waist to head-high range which meant they were suitable for the range of abilities across the two groups and everyone had lots of long rides in the uncrowded and glassy conditions.

After a very short rain shower this morning it’s been another glorious day of sunshine here on the Bukit and it’s only the wind direction and swell that are showing signs of the change in season so far.

Intermediate Surf Lessons at Uluwatu

It was glassy perfection this morning at Uluwatu for our intermediate group lessons.

As the dry-season wave in our immediate area that picks up the most swell, it’s often only suitable for more advanced surfers.

Not today though, as glassy waves were reeling down the reef in the waist to shoulder-high range and ideal for our intermediate surfers to practice making their first turns and enjoying those long rides down the reef.

Advance Surf Guiding at Gunung Payung, Bali

Bali and surfing, these two words can be considered as a synonyms. Consistent wave whole year round is gorgeous privilege for this amazing island. Our surfers make sure of it any time they come to learn and enjoy surfing with us and they know that they will get the best surf experience here.

This early morning our Advance group enjoyed remarkable sunrise along with surf guiding at Gunung Payung beach. Conditions are perfect today, bright sunny day fresh offshore wind, waves are clean with the size chest high to head high and overhead on sets. Everybody had fun session.

Beginner Surf Lessons at Balangan, Bali

We were expecting some wet season winds this morning but when they never arrived, our beginner group changed their plans and enjoyed the shorter ride to beautiful Balangan beach for a sunny morning of group, private, and semi-private surfing lessons.

Waves were in the knee to waist-high range this morning and perfectly clean and glassy — exactly what you need for building confidence and progressing from riding straight in the white water to making your first turns down the line.

Intermediate and Advanced Surf Lessons and Guiding at Greenbowl, Bali

One of the great things about being located on the Bukit peninsular is how easy it is to change coastline depending on swell and wind-direction, so regardless of the conditions, we’ll always find the best waves around.

Swell height had dropped overnight so it was a change of plan from the scheduled session at Uluwatu as our intermediate and advanced surfers made their way down the Greenbowl steps for their morning surf today.

Sets were hitting the Greenbowl reef in the shoulder to head-high range and all of our surfers enjoyed plenty of long rides.

Beginner Group and Semi-Private Surf Lessons at Padang Padang, Bali

Our beginner group stayed local this morning for their first session of group and semi-private lessons as they surfed less than 1km away from the camp at Padang Padang beach.

Wave height was a similar size to yesterday with sets coming through in the knee to waist-high range.

It might be late November but it’s still dry and sunny here in paradise and our guests are enjoying the fact that there are fewer people in the water and more waves to go around.

Intermediate and Advanced Surf Guiding and Lessons at Uluwatu, Bali

It was another beautiful dawn session for our intermediate and advanced surfers this morning down the road at Uluwatu.

With the mid-tide window of opportunity coinciding with first light, our surfers were among the first in the water for their lessons and surf guiding, and everybody enjoyed lots of long rides.

Wave height was coming through in the chest to head-high range and we’re already looking forward to tomorrow morning where the swell will be a little larger than today and the tide times will be even better.

Intermediate Surf Lessons and Guiding at Middle Reef, Bali

In anticipation of the arrival of some new swell, our intermediate group jumped aboard the boat for Toro Toro this morning.
On arrival, wave height wasn’t as expected so they continued past the airport runway to check the other airport reefs, settling on Middle Reef as the wave of choice with the best combination of size and other surfers in the water.

Waves were coming through this morning in the waist to shoulder-high range and a perfect opportunity for our intermediate surfers to practise generating speed down the line.

After breakfast back at camp, our intermediates surfed their second session at Dreamland while our beginners enjoyed a very quiet Padang Padang to themselves for the first session and returned there again later in the morning.
