Intermediate Surf Lessons and Advanced Surf Guiding at Geger Left, Bali

This morning our intermediate and advanced groups headed over to Nusa Dua to surf at Geger Reef’s lesser-known neighbour Geger Lefts for lessons and surf guiding.

Wave height was in the shoulder to overhead range as the sun rose over Bali, backlighting the waves and creating another picture-postcard morning here in paradise.

Elsewhere at the surf camp this morning, our intermediates and beginners groups surfed at Dreamland and Padang Padang, so there was — as always — something on offer for all ability levels.

Beginner Surf Lessons at Padang Padang, Bali

Across the channel from the world-famous Padang Padang lefthander lies the beginners’ playground of Padang Padang Rights, where our beginner surfing lessons took place this morning.

While many people are advised to learn to surf at the sandy beaches of Kuta and Canggu, we disagree. On days like today when the waves are small and peeling slowly, when there are almost no other people in the water and the sun illuminates the crystal clear water, there is simply no better place to learn to surf.

Wave height was in the knee to waist high range with the occasional larger set coming through and everybody had a great double session before heading back to camp for lunch.

Intermediate and Advanced Surf Lessons and Guiding at Dreamland, Bali

Our intermediate and advanced groups headed to the A-frames of Dreamland this morning for surf lessons and guiding.

Wave height was in the shoulder to overhead range and everybody caught some great rides — particularly those having group or private surf lessons, who benefited from the knowledge of our expert instructors, ensuring they were in the perfect takeoff spot every time.

It’s another beautiful morning here on the Bukit great weather and the consistent swell that you’d expect from Bali. Why not come and join us?

Beginner and Intermediate Surf Lessons at Dreamland, Bali

This morning our beginner and intermediate groups headed the short distance from the surf camp to beautiful Dreamland beach for their group and private surfing lessons.

Wave height was smaller than yesterday in the knee to shoulder high range with a couple of larger head-hight sets coming through occasionally — perfect for working on your surfing skills in a safe and fun environment.

It’s weekly BBQ day at camp, so after our different groups surfed their second sessions at Balangan and Padang Padang. it was all back to the camp to feast on some of the Bukit peninsular’s finest flame-grilled food.

Intermediate Surf Lessons at Dreamland, Bali

This morning our intermediate group enjoyed their surf lessons at Dreamland. This surf break is a particular favourite of intermediate surfers as there are a variety of spots that work on different tides and swell sizes. Conditions today are clean with light offshore wind and excellent for learning. Swell size is smaller than yesterday so waves are shoulder high to head high and overhead high on set. Pretty intense surf session with lots of fun! and, as a result, our excited surfers sharing their emotions with each other during amazing breakfast.

Beginner and Intermediate Surf Lessons at Tower, Bali

This morning our beginner and intermediate surfers jumped in the boat to surf Tower in Jimbaran bay. Named after the large towers used to mark the deep water channel for large boats, this is a great spot for progressing from white water to surfing the green faces and friendlier than nearby Toro Toro, which is a slightly longer boat ride away.

As you can see from today’s photos, our guests all caught some great waves in the late October sun. No sign of wet season so far!

Elsewhere at the surf camp, our other surf lessons took place at Bingin Rights, Nikko and Jimbaran today, so there was something to suit everybody — carefully selected, as always, by our expert local surf guides and instructors.

Intermediate Surfing Lessons at Jump Off, Bali

Our two vans of intermediate surfers headed to Jump Off aka Honeymoons this morning for their lessons, which is located alongside the cliffs at the south of Jimbaran Bay.

After everybody had built up the courage to jump off the cliffs and into the water, they all had a great time surfing the left-handers of this unique spot.

Wave height was in the chest-high to head-high range and the cliffs provided their shelter from the wind, resulting in clean waves for everyone to enjoy.

After breakfast, both of these groups surfed at Toro Toro while our other group lessons took place at Tower and Jimbaran.

Intermediate and Advanced Surf Lessons and Guiding at Nikko, Bali

Today’s report comes from Nikko where our intermediate and advanced groups headed for surfing lessons and guiding.

A beautiful spot on the south coast of the Bukit peninsular named after the hotel, Nikko was offering up waves from waist high to head high this morning, for our guests’ second surf session of the day.

Following a grey start to the morning, the clouds burned away to leave us with a bright, sunny day, and light cross-offshore winds kept the waves clean for the whole session.

After a busy morning of surfing, our guests headed back to the camp for their delicious daily lunch.

Intermediate Surfing Lessons at Toro Toro, Bali

This morning our intermediate group took the boat out from Jimbaran bay to surf at Toro Toro — one of Bali’s famous airport reefs.

Split between the main peak and the inside, there were plenty of waves to go around and everyone had a great time as they worked on progressing from surfing the whitewater to the waves’ faces.

After stopping back at the surf camp for breakfast, the intermediate group surfed at Dreamland to continue working on the great progress they’ve made so far.
