The swell got smaller today and we decided to visit Uluwatu. The mid-tide in the morning was perfect for the smaller waves and long, clean left-handers were peeling over the reef. It takes a while to get used to the current and to find your landmark when you surf there for the first time. With the right guidance, you can be sure that you will be waiting in the right spot even though you are not yet familiar with the surf break.

Choosing the right peak and having a landmark is crucial for surfing in Uluwatu. There are multiple peaks on days with smaller waves and the current can take you out of position very quickly. Going to Nusa Dua was the right choice today. The west side of the Bukit was not ideal due to the strong wind from the west. This meant perfect offshore conditions on the east coast! Long and cleanly breaking left-handers were coming consistently and the many sets made it easy for everyone to catch waves.

From surfing down the line on head-high waves to pulling in the occasional barrel, there were opportunities for the advanced surfer but also the intermediate surfers. If the bigger sets were a bit too much, you could easily sit on the shoulder and wait for smaller waves to come through. This makes the spot very attractive to a wide variety of surfers. Choose a suitable peak for your level, wait for the right wave and you will be rewarded.

What a beautiful sunny day with excellent surf conditions on the east side of the Bukit. Shoulder to head high waves were breaking perfectly to the left. The water was so clear that you could look right through the waves, and watch the colorful fish swimming underneath your surfboard.

Days like this are magical and it is what people get addicted to. Great waves, amazing nature, and friendly company! Surfing uncrowded waves is a dream, and there is nothing better than seeing your friends cheer for you when you catch the wave of the day. Surf trips like this are a wonderful experience and memories will last a lifetime.

There is a reason why this spot is called Dreamland. Its white sand and blue, crystal clear water is one reason, the other is the fun waves breaking not far from the shore. Today was a good day to test our student’s capabilities and see how much of the things they learned are still remembered. Since the swell was picking up today, more surfers were drawn to Padang Padang and everyone wanted to get a piece of the pie. We decided to go to Nusa Dua again today, because of the western wind. Offshore, head-high surf conditions greeted us and put a smile on our faces. The left-handers were our favored choice, perfectly shaped peaks and clean walls attracted more than just a handful of surfers.
