Swell is a little bit smaller than yesterday, but the waves were more consistent and more perfect. There was around 15 surfers out today and quite competitive to get the best set waves, but there were some sets swinging wide which allowed a wider take off zone and more room. Bingin is often described as a mechanical wave, and it was like a machine today. Excellent quality wave, perfect size and clean offshore wind

Swell is pumping here this morning in Bali, so we decided to head to bingin, which is more sheltered than Uluwatu. Challenging conditions on a 16 second period swell as the wave is moving fast and powerful. Bingin is a short intense ride with a scary drop. Perfect size for bingin today with around 10-12 surfers in the water, when there would normally be a pack of 30 in these conditions.

Swell is pumping here today in Bali and we done a dawnie at Bingin. Only 2 of us in the water for the first 45 minutes is quite a luxury at this break, which is normally crowded in the dark. By mid morning the crowd maxed out as 6 people who were all happy to share the waves. Light offshore wind was good for wave quality but better for barrels on a medium-strong wind. Overhead on the sets and always a pleasure to get a few rides at this mechanical perfect wave.

This morning we went to bingin, a mechanical left hander, and one of the best surf breaks in the world. Perfect size for bingin and very consistent waves. Pandemic crowds – just a handful of tourists were surfing his morning, while we had bingin legend Richie to help us. Bingin is perfectly suited for advanced/intermediate+ surfers, wanting to build confidence on a fast barrelling reef break.

We headed to Bingin today with our advanced group where we were met with an increase in size compared to the previous few sessions. The break was maxing out on the bigger sets which reached double overhead, and with a virtually empty lineup there was no shortage of waves to go around. There was a light onshore which led to a bit of bumpiness on the surface of the waves and made for some challenging takeoffs, but sometimes there’s a small price to pay for surfing uncrowded waves in paradise. With dry season on the horizon and blue skies overhead, we’re looking forward to sampling more of what Bingin has to offer over the coming months.

The swell had dropped overnight and Bingin was rather average today for our advanced surf guiding session.
Average at Bingin is still a blast but there were rather a lot of new arrivals, escaping lockdown in Europe, and they were frothing for a high wave count.
A good vibe in the water all around though and a few waves for everyone.

With a blustery start to the day we sought the shelter of Bingin’s cliffs this morning for the first surf session of the day
As the swell has increased yesterday waves were breaking between shoulder and head-high with plenty of open faces and barrels on offer, as you’d expect from the Bingin barrel machine
