Dreamland is one of the surf camp’s favourite waves; great for beginners, intermediates, and advanced surfers, depending on the swell size. The A-frame is a quality wave that offers a short right-hander that breaks into a deep water channel and a fast left-hander that can barrel on the take-off. The wave is much softer when head-high and under; however, when big, it is board-snapping scary and breaks like Sunset in Hawaii, great for advanced surfers keen for a challenge. The reason for this is that it breaks on a flat rock shelf which gives it the characteristic of deep water when small, and shallow water when big (water depth relative to wave size). There is a left-hander to the south of the A-frame that works on a higher tide than the frame, which can be fun for intermediate surfers. The wave reforms on the inside and is popular with local surfers as it is very punchy and perfect for aerials and throws the occasional barrel. Watch out for the shore break, which can nail you to the amusement of everyone on the beach. Hidden rocks add to the mystery and excitement.
There is also an inside left near to the A frame that is not a quality wave but fun for improvers and can be suitable for beginners.
