Advanced surf guiding at Uluwatu

Our advanced surfers had an incredible morning at Uluwatu! The swell was pumping with consistent well-overhead sets pulsing through the lineup. Bali’s best surfers were out putting on a show with incredibly committed turns and skilful barrel rides. The group waited for the tide to be just right after breakfast before paddling out to the lineup. By then, the offshore wind had picked up to a moderate pace. The surfers pushed their boundaries, testing their skills and courage under the guidance of head coach Randy.

On days like these, securing a set wave can be challenging. With the help of an experienced surf guide, you can gain valuable experience in waves of consequence.

Intermediate surf guiding at Uluwatu

Excellent surf at Uluwatu this morning. The swell is picking up and the conditions were exactly what advanced surfers come here for. The tide was in a great range, the wind was offshore, and the conditions very clean. The most skillfull of the surfers were able to clock in some tube time at either of the two barrelling sections at The Racetrack. The rest of our group enjoyed long, fast rides down the reef. There were barrel sections, turn sections, overhead set waves, and smaller waves in between- something for every surfer keen on getting some excellent waves and improving their skills.

The surf will pick up in size as the day progresses. Get out there!

Intermediate surf guiding at Uluwatu

Another day in Paradise at the world’s most consistent wave! We had much smaller surf this morning than the previous few days. The weather was mixed, but the surf conditions remained clean. The biggest set waves were in the head-high range, with the rest of the waves being waist to shoulder high. Despite the smaller size, the reef served up some excellent, long rides- great for intermediate level surfers still finding their balance on the faster waves. The surfers all got some great waves, with big smiles to show for it.

The Indian Ocean has been very active this season, and we certainly do not mind a small wave day here or there.

Advanced surf guiding at Uluwatu

More stunning surf conditions at Uluwatu this morning! The surf is still well-overhead in size with pristine conditions and just a touch of offshore wind. The waves were lining up beautifully at both The Peak and The Racetrack. The Peak was breaking much easier today compared to yesterday, with manageable take-off’s followed by fast walls for advanced surfers. Over at The Racetrack, the waves were less intense due to the higher tide, and featured long rides on the set waves.

From barrels at The Peak for advanced surfers to long lines at The Racetrack for intermediate surfers, Today’s session at Uluwatu certainly did not disappoint. We have another swell arriving tomorrow. See you in the lineup.

Advanced surf guiding at Uluwatu

Another day of exceptional surfing conditions at Uluwatu! The surf has dropped in size and consistency since yesterday, but there is still lots of energy in the ocean. Over at The Peak, the well-overhead set waves were coming in fast and powerful with intense take-offs, followed by chunky barrel sections. Down at The Racetrack, the waves were feeling the effects of the higher tide, coming in smaller and less frequent than the waves at The Peak. As expected during the dry season, the wind was light offshore, and the conditions were very clean.

Uluwatu is the world’s most consistently world-class wave- day in and day out during the dry season. Come and join us!

Advanced surf guiding at Uluwatu

Today is a big wave day in Bali with a very large swell lighting up the Bukit Peninsula, making the breaks in the Uluwatu area for experts only. This morning, our surfers headed out to Jimbaran’s more tucked away breaks, where they enjoyed much more user-friendly waves.

Out at Uluwatu, the big wave chargers were putting on a real show, a testament to their skill and courage. After waiting for the tide to drop enough mid-morning, the big wave chargers paddled out to macking, several times overhead Uluwatu bombs. The surfers were carving up some beautiful lines, much to the delight of the onlookers on the cliff.

Intermediate surf guiding at Uluwatu

Another dreamy day in Uluwatu! There were some larger set waves right as the session began. However, the conditions quickly eased, offering up mostly head-high surf with long rides. The tide was in the perfect range, with just the right amount of water over the reef for excellent surf conditions. The wind was light offshore, and the surface of the ocean waves was very smooth. There were some bigger and faster waves throwing barrels for the advanced surfers, with plenty of head-high and below waves for the rest of us.

Tomorrow is looking like another great day of surfing. There is a large swell on the forecast for next week. See you out there!

Intermediate surf guiding at Uluwatu

The swell has dropped since yesterday, but Uluwatu always manages to deliver the waves. The surf was about the same size as yesterday, however, the set waves were less consistent. The most patient surfers were able to snag the overhead set waves that came in occasionally. As always this time of the year, the wind was offshore and the weather was excellent. If you didn’t get a set wave, there were plenty of in-between waves to go for.

As you can see from the photos, the best of the waves were very high quality. Compared to most surf breaks around the world, a slow day at Uluwatu will still deliver a very fun session.

Intermediate surf guiding at Uluwatu

The swell has dropped this morning and the trade wind has picked up. However, there was enough swell to go around and plenty of waves for everyone. There were a few overhead set waves for the lucky surfers, but most of the waves were in the shoulder-high range. The tide was higher that we would have preferred given the small swell, but the Race Track and The Peak still delivered very good waves.

On days like today when the waves are moving slower, it is a good opportunity to work on your cutbacks, getting your feet into the correct position, and developing drive from your bottom turns. These are key concepts that can always be improved upon.
